Why computer couldn't get correct IP address when computer connect to VAR11N Plus through local connection?

The network port of VAR11N Plus is WAN port, computer couldn't connect to VAR11N Plus through WAN port. The only way that computer connect to VAR11N Plus is through wifi network.
